Let’s say you need to get 1,200 parts out the door by April 14th. You run one 8-hour shift a day at your shop. If today is April 11th, you only have 24 total production hours before April 14th. Your target cycle for the job is one minute, so theoretically, you should be able to get this order out the door by your deadline (60 parts per hour x 24 hours = 1,440 parts, which means you have more than enough time to meet this deadline, especially since your utilization will be less than 100%.
Enter an unforeseen problem. Your machine goes down during the shift on April 12th because of a mechanical issue. So now you’re asking yourself if you can get 1,200 parts out the door by April 14th.

Target Tracker is one of many new tools Amper is releasing to help customers get answers—not just data.
The new feature was built to inject confidence into your production progress. With Target Tracker, you can get a reality check on whether you'll finish a job on time or get the promised number of parts out the door—with the actual hours remaining in a job and the projected date of completion.
Target Tracker pulls PO or job data out of your ERP and automatically logs it as a goal in Amper.
**Note: if you do not have your ERP integrated with Amper, goals can be created manually, and the same workflow will follow.
These goals can be assigned to specific machines, so when the operator logs into the Tally Sheet they can select their goal from a drop down menu.
Once a goal is selected, important information will automatically populate the tally sheet like part number, target cycle times, and the target number of good parts needed–reducing the need for manual data entry and the opportunity for error. From there, operators can keep tabs on their production goals in real time and know whether they're on track to hit their targets.
As parts are automatically counted (or manually logged), and scrap is entered, the operator will see progress towards the goal.
From this view, they can see the target completion date of the goal, the projected completion date of the goal, as well as the number of days behind and hours remaining to complete the goal.
Plus, supervisors can keep track of how the team is trending towards their goals in the Scoreboard view. If a machine has an active goal (like the machine on the left), you will be able to see the projected end date, current utilization vs target utilization, current cycle time vs target cycle time, and current good & scrap parts compared to the target good and scrap parts.
And with the Target Tracker dashboard, you can keep track of all your active, completed, and upcoming goals as well as how each part is performing by looking at target job hours, total hours, utilization and cycle time information.
